My theory is related to the physical relationship between architecture and its environment, thus integrating 'smart', kinetic elements which actively responded to its surroundings.

| Contextually, the basic geometric block form of the bridge greater suits the UNSW surroundings without looking outlandish. The simplicity of the bridge design enables the focus to be on the innovative moving elements, responsive to their surroundings. |

| Lined rooftop, a moving element which responds to the environment and can close into a smooth roof surface. Allows natural light to access the architecture whilst also allowing control. |

| The main entrance to the bridged school. The architecture highlights the integration of natural lighting into design through the use of large glass faces on the main facade. The sliding sunblock shades are also evident on the window to the right of the image. |
